Shadow Casting & Productions, LLC, and the shadowcasting.com website (collectively “ShadowCasting”) are committed to handling your Membership information with a high standard of security. We collect information in order to serve you better – by providing better information and creating a valuable community in which to discuss your thoughts, issues and experiences with other Members. To become a Member of Shadowcasting.com you must provide us with information about yourself as requested below. We will use the information we collect to provide valuable services such as Membership to our site and determining eligibility to be selected for a show/event.

1. What information we collect and how we collect it.

Membership Application and Online Registration — To register your ShadowCasting Membership and/or your online registration, we may ask you to provide information including your name, address, email address, contact number, date of birth, gender and ethnicity. You must provide all requested information to become a free member of ShadowCasting. In order to access your online account, you will be asked to select a username and password. You will also have the option to personalize your own site by providing additional optional information including height, hair color, weight, body type, or if you are SAG or AFTRA for specialty casting. We also offer you the ability to receive text messages about your tickets when creating an account. We use your information to deliver personalized services, tickets, content, and advertisements to enhance your experience with ShadowCasting. For example, you may receive a text message or email about casting calls or tickets to shows because you selected “to receive text messages” as an area of interest under your personal profile when you registered to use the site. You can also opt-out of text messages updates when creating a profile. 

  • Contests/Promotions — When you enter a contest or other promotional feature on our site, we may ask for your name, address, e-mail address and other contact information. At no time will eligibility require a purchase on your part, but you may be required to become a Member of the site.

2. Cookies

We use cookies to enhance your experience at Shadowcasting.com to give you better, more personalized service once you've registered. We send your Web browser a “cookie,” a small data file that's stored on your hard drive, to help us provide you with customized services. We do not and cannot use cookies to retrieve personal information from your computer. Cookies are used by many of the most popular and well-respected web sites in order to make your experience easier and more valuable. ShadowCasting uses Session ID cookies and Persistent Cookies. Session Cookies is for authentication purposes and Persistent Cookies is used only to remember usernames NOT passwords. When you log in, Persistent Cookies is used to store your username, so you don’t have to enter it more than once.

3. Disclosure of your information

In General, ShadowCasting will not share or sell your personally identifiable information to third parties or mass marketers except in a limited circumstance Shadow Casting & Productions, LLC,  may share Member information between them. On occasions, ShadowCasting may ask for your consent to share particular data with a third party. In addition, ShadowCasting reserves the right, without disclosing your personally identifiable information to third parties, to use the information you provide to offer you additional ShadowCasting or third-party products and services that we think will be of interest to you, unless you notify us that you do not wish to receive this information from us. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

ShadowCasting will not share any of a members personal information with a third party except in some circumstances described below. We may share your personally identifiable information with third parties with which we contract to help enhance the functionality of the Shadowcasting.com and provide new products, services, and content. We make sure that these third parties do not use this information for any other purpose and do not share the information with any other person. 

1. Website Hosting provider: ShadowCasting uses a web hosting service to provide website hosting on our site. When you sign up for a membership with Onset, we will share your required information and any other information as necessary for the hosting site to provide that service.

2. We do disclose aggregated data to our advertisers and partners to generate reports and marketing research. For example, we tell advertisers how many people saw or clicked on an ad and additionally, how many people saw or clicked on ads in different portions of our service. Where available, we may offer additional information about viewer characteristics. However, this does not include personally identifiable information about you or your online usage patterns. Our advertisers allow us to provide our service to you. In return, they need to know how to effectively place their ads to potential customers. 

3. For other ventures, it is possible that ShadowCasting in the future may merge with or be acquired by another company. If such an acquisition occurs, the successor company would have access to the information maintained by Onset, including customer account information, however, it would continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy unless and until it is amended as described below in the Changes in Policy section.

4. For high security events, ShadowCasting will be authorized to use information provided by a member, who signed up for a show, where proper security precautions are required. The member will have knowledge of this type of event when applying for tickets. To grant you access to this type of event, event staff or homeland security might use background checks. Background checks will only be done for a National Security event, such as SUPER BOWL. A background check will only be done by a respected government agency. 

5. Opt-in/Opt-out or deactivating account

You have the option to subscribe to receive ShadowCasting Email Updates when you register on the site. We will use these email updates to provide you with additional information on new shows, special offers, site upgrades, new features, events, promotions, and much more. You have the option to email us to opt out of receiving the emails that you receive. 

ShadowCasting gives users the option to remove their information from our database completely. If you don't want to receive any form of direct contact from ShadowCasting whether it is email, updates, or other promotional offers, email tickets@shadowcasting.com, and ask us to cancel your account. ShadowCasting is not responsible for removing information from third-party lists or databases. 

6. Changing your information on your Profile Page

In order to ensure that the information we maintain is accurate, Shadowcasting.com gives users the option to change or modify their information previously provided. If you would like to change your information currently in our database, please login to your account, any problems email us.

7. Protection for Minors

We have no intention of collecting personally identifiable information from children (i.e., individuals under the age of 13) for castings. If a child has provided us with individually identifiable information, that child's parent or guardian should contact us via email at tickets@shadowcasting.com or call our offices at 718-290-6714 if they would like this information deleted from our records. 

8. Your Consent/Changes made to this Policy

By using Shadowcasting.com you consent to the collection and use of information by Shadowcasting.com in the manner explained above. If we decide to change this privacy policy, we will correct it to reflect those changes, so you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. We may make improvements and/or changes in our services described in the site, including the terms and conditions of your use of this site, without liability. Onset reserves the right to change these conditions at any time.

9. Request Access and Request to Delete Personal Information (in compliance with California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018)

As of January 1, 2020, ShadowCasting intends to comply with the amended California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. You have the right, subject to undue expense and other exceptions, to request personal information collected about you by ShadowCasting within 12 months of such request. Such information will be provided to you within 45 days of Shadowcasting's receipt of your verifiable request. If an extension of 45 days is reasonably necessary to provide any requested information, you will be notified of this extension within 45 days of the original request. Other than the scenarios set forth in our Privacy Policy, Onset does not sell any of your personal information, nor does ShadowCasting distribute your personal information to third parties. If a verifiable request for information is received by ShadowCasting, ShadowCasting will provide information on the categories of personal information that has been collected about you. You have the right to request that ShadowCasting delete all personal information collected by ShadowCasting about you, subject to exceptions. Please call/email our office to request that ShadowCasting provide and/or delete any personal information collected. You will not be subject to any penalty or discrimination because of your request.

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a consumer request related to your personal information. You may also make a request on behalf of your minor child. Your verifiable consumer request must provide sufficient information that allows us to verify you are the person whom the information was collected about, and you must provide sufficient detail about your request.

The obligations imposed on businesses by the California Consumer Privacy Act shall not restrict ShadowCasting's ability to comply with federal, state, or local laws, and/or comply with civil, criminal, or regulatory inquiry/investigation by federal, state, or local authorities. ShadowCasting will cooperate with law enforcement agencies concerning any conduct or activity that is believed to be in violation. ShadowCasting will exercise or defend legal claims, and/or collect, use, retain, sell, or disclose consumer information that is deidentified or in the aggregate consumer information.
